Ep. 241 – The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast

July 17, 1973 Seattle WA. Led Zeppelin play another of a series of brilliant gigs across the United States. There are myriad recordings of this show, and we’re listening to a sweet vinyl rip of the OG Trademark of Quality title V 1/2.

I play Since I’ve Been Loving You, No Quarter, and The Rain Song. This recording is beautiful and a joy to hear. I hope you enjoy it.

Ep. 239 – The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast

We hear a scorching Page/Plant show, professionally recorded for broadcast on Westwood One) from October 1, 1998 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Everyone is on fire and Jimmy plays like a man possessed. I play Heartbreaker, Most High, and a blazing How Many More Times with Jimmy commanding his instrument like the virtuoso he is, esp when he and Robert go into a brilliant I Can’t Quit You, Baby in the middle, before jumping back into it. Really great stuff.

Ep. 238 – The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast

We hear some rockin’ raucous rock n roll with Jimmy Page & The Black Crowes at the Roseland NYC on Oct. 14, 1999. They’re amazing together and I play Wiser Time, Sick Again, and Nobody’s Fault But Mine, all of which benefit from the 3 guitar army wall of sound. Fantastic.

Ep. 237 – The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast

This is one of the best nights of Led Zeppelin’s 1975 US tour. March 12, 1975 in Long Beach has all four cylinders blazing. We hear a fresh transfer from the 3rd Source master tapes, and they sound great!
A supernal No Quarter and Heartbreaker are heard; the latter containing a rockin’ I’m A Man jam. This is a magic nigh

Ep. 235 – The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast

We hear an insane Whole Lotta Love from Sept 24 1971 Tokyo, as Led Zeppelin is on their first tour of Japan. The song is 30 minutes of Rave On, You Time Is Gonna Come, I’m A Man, Hello Mary Lou, How Many More Times, and more… all within Whole Lotta Love. It’s ridiculously good. Also play a groovy Communcation Breakdown. Also insane.

This is an intimate and lovely performance. Enjoy.
