Mike Millard Master May 25, 1975 – Heart of Markness Podcast

We hear another Mike Millard master recording, this time it’s Jefferson Starship in Long Beach on May 25, 1975. A great sounding recording of the newly minted Jefferson Starship. Classics like White Rabbit and Somebody to Love are played as well as the new songs like Ride the Tiger, etc. Great great sound.

December 4, 1984 – Newly Released Master Audience Recording

This is a brand new master recording from an early show from The Firm, on Dec. 4, 1984 in Ludwigshafen, Germany. The band is on fire and there is some brilliant playing from Jimmy Page in particular. A great show.

Ok, this one went off the rails. Neil Young with Booker T and the MG’s, July 3, 1993, Torhout, Belgium. Great audience/soundboard matrix recording. It gets silly. Neil and the band have a hard time with Helpless, and have to start over, and I just go berserk get all Dan Brown conspiracy crazy and decide all Neil’s songs have darker meaning. I laughed my ass off. I hope you do too. If nothing else the music is amazing. Booker T and the MG’s are solid as a rock behind Neil, and add some depth to the groove. Enjoy, friends. Bonus Quarantine Episode – Mike Millard Master

Another Mike Millard Master was released today. The JEMS recording group restores these (heretofore unreleased) tapes, often reshelling them or baking them if necessary… in order to extract every drop of clarity and fidelity. They’re doing god’s work. Today they released Elton John Sept 29, 1975 San Diego…. .and it’s incredible. To me it was a reminder of why Elton John is famous in the first place. In the 70’s this guy delivered. In this show he played two sets totaling 32 songs! I play the songs I know, Rocket Man, Funeral for a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, and Someone Saved My Life Tonight (which is incredibly moving), but the whole damn show is incredible. I hope you enjoy it.
