Ep. 192 – The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast

We revisit Led Zeppelin’s 9/28/71 Osaka legendary show with a glorious stereo remaster by North Bridge. Wide stereo soundstage and impressive instrument separation make this star shine even brighter. Amazing. It sounds even better than the awesome EVSD release.

You can download this (almost complete. No Immigrant Song and only the last half of Heartbreaker) right here: https://mega.nz/file/DgsiCCDQ#LX0kNfd2e9qmmBamIvKd13cDv_00I5VdxVawSzw-wHk

Ep. 177 – The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast 8/21/71

We hear a NEW SOURCE for 8/21/71 and it sounds way better. Only the first 4 songs were taped before getting caught, but we hear ’em. Immigrant Song, Heartbreaker, SIBLY, & Black Dog all better than before. Super cool.

Ep. 160 – The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast

We listen to an improved source for 9/11/71 which is when Led Zeppelin played Rochester, NY. This is a great show from a time when the band was a force of nature. We hear Whole Lotta Love (with killer SLIDE solo in the medleys) and Thank You with organ solo. You’ll love this.

Ep. 89 – The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast – 9/14/71

We listen to an excellent stereo vinyl rip of 9/14/71 in Berkley Cali. Insane performances of SIBLY and Dazed, as well as the mellow acoustic That’s The Way and Going to California. A great one, folks. I know I’ve covered this show before, but not like this.

Sept 3, 1971 Madison Square Garden – The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast

Led Zeppelin played New York City on Sept. 3, 1971 and the crowd was wild! So wild they stormed the stage and it collapsed. This is a tape in which the crowd at times is louder than the band, but the show itself is amazing. This is a vastly underrated Zep show. Jimmy’s playing has an edge I’d not heard before.

This is a fun one! Led Zeppelin on November 16, 1971 in Ipswich UK, at St Mathews Baths. A small gig on their Winter UK tour, debuting the brand new Led Zeppelin IV. We hear the ultra rare Gallows Pole, as well as brand new numbers Black Dog, Rock and Roll, plus a rollicking Whole Lotta Love, and Eddie Cochran’s Weekend. Top notch, folks.

Episode 67 of The Heart of Markness Podcast

We listen to the opening night (Sept 23, 1971) of Led Zeppelin’s first Japanese Tour, and it’s brilliant. They’re eager to show the audience why they’re the best band ever, and they succeed. We listen to a pristine Since I’ve Been Loving You, and a rapturous Whole Lotta Love with complete performances of Good Times, Bad Times, How Many More Times, You Shook Me, as well as tons of rock songs in the medley. It’s arguably the best Whole Lotta Love ever.

Jimmy and Robert dealing with the Florida heat.

This is one of the very few soundboards we have of Led Zeppelin in 1971, and it’s a beauty. This show, from Aug 31, 1971 is a top ten on many fans’ lists, with good reason.
