New York in Paris April 12, 1992

This is an excellent audience recording of Lou Reed touring in support of his New York album (one of the best albums of his career, and of the 80’s in general), at the Olympia Theater in Paris, June 23, 1989. He plays New York almost in its entirety, and the plays a bunch of songs from his whole career. It’s great.

Peter Green & Eric Clapton 1970

This is a very mellow, Grateful Dead/Allman Brothers-esque jam From February 8. 1970 at the Boston Tea Party. Jim Gordon from Derek and the Dominos plays drums. The connection between Peter Green (rest in peace) and Eric Clapton borders on telepathic. It’s uncanny.

Bonus Episode- The Heart of Markness Podcast

Although not really big in the States, Suzy Quatro has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide, mostly in the UK and Australia. JEMS has released another Mike Millard master recording, this time of Suzy Quatro opening for Alice Cooper at the LA Forum on June 17, 1975. Bonus Episode – September 7, 1975 Mike Millard Master

Another Mike Millard master tape has been released by JEMS. Black Sabbath, Long Beach 9/7/75 is a heavy af show in support of the Sabotage album. Great stuff. Very guitar heavy mix. You’ll dig it. Led Zeppelin June 7th, 1977 MSG

By special request from a long time listener, and Patron, this episode features Led Zeppelin’s first of six nights at Madison Square Garden, NYC. June 7, 1977 is what Mimo wanted to hear and I can see why. It’s a powerhouse show and we hear it from a bass heavy (in a good way) soundboard recording.

With Carlos Santana, Keith Moon and More

This is an incredible sounding recording, another Mike Millard master recording, from August 14, 1975 at the LA Forum. Eric is joined by Keith Moon, Carlos Santana, and Joe Cocker.

Per usual for Eric in the post Layla era, the performance is laid back but very well performed. If you would like the entire show, you can download it here: https://mega.nz/folder/KotX1BiL#FWwX3s4Lt-Cqne6X32tHHw

Signals Tour Wembley Arena May 21, 1983

Bonus Quarantine Episode – Rush London 1983 I had a request to do a Rush show from the Signals Tour. I decided on May 21, 1983 The band is playing insanely well, and the crowd is enthusiastic. If you love Rush you will love this.

Ep. 56 of The Heart of Markness

This is one of the best live recordings out there. Mike Millard’s Led Zeppelin 3/11/75 is just superb. The performances are great and the audience recording sounds professional. Here the boys at their indulgent best. Dazed and Confused is played as well as the funky Whole Lotta Love/Crunge, a primal Kashmir, and a sublime Over The Hills And Far Away. Great stuff.

Sept. 19, 1970 – Evening Show

One of the best shows ever.

On Sept 19, 1970 Led Zeppelin played two shows at Madison Square Garden, in New York City. It was reported in the press that each member of the band earned $30,000 for less than six hours work. Good for them. They earned it because this show contains one of the hottest hours of live music I’ve ever heard.
