The Heart of Markness Classic Rock Podcast – June 5, 1984 Nottingham UK

This is a great professional recording of boogie woogie band Rocket 88 playing live on June 5, 1984 in Nottingham as a benefit for the recently late Alexis Korner (father of British blues and member of Rocket 88). This show features Charlie Watts, Ian Stewart, Jack Bruce, Jimmy Page, Paul Jones, Ruby Turner and many more.
Super fun show with greatly improved sound.

As this is at least a semi-legit release I can’t share this with you, but if you want to buy the complete 2 CD set, here is the link for Amazon. https://amzn.to/3YEhsNH

Ep. 227 – The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast

By request we hear Led Zeppelin from March 14, 1975 in San Diego, taped in excellent stereo by Mike Millard. I play fun, fiery versions of Trampled Underfoot, In My Time of Dying, and Sick Again. Good stuff, folks.

Sept 2, 1970 Oakland, CA. This is tonight’s Led Zeppelin concert. It’s right before Blueberry Hill and shines with that same magick. We Communication Breakdown (w/ Good Times Bad Times), a rare Train Kept A Rollin’, Blueberry Hill and a raucous Long Tall Sally. Powerful and kinetic.

Ep. 220 – The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast.

We hear a new revision of NiteOwl’s matrix of Led Zeppelin 8/31/69 at the Texas International Pop Festival. This time he’s demixed the bass and drums from the mono aud recording, and split/remixed them to sound more like a professional release, when mixed with the voice/guitar heavy soundboard recording. Another amazing piece. Sounds great!

January 15, 1973 Stoke UK. A great soundboard recording remastered and remixed by NakedEye25 to sound even better. We hear Dancing Days, Over The Hills, and Dazed.
A great show from a unique tour of small venues in the UK. It’s neat hearing the biggest band in the world playing 800 seat halls again.

Ep. 215 – The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast

The 1st of 3 nights at the Winterland in San Fran, Led Zeppelin are absolutely incendiary. This is April 25, 1969 and we’re nearing the end of telecaster Jimmy. We hear Train Kept A Rollin’, maybe the best You Shook Me ever (Robert’s voice!), and As Long As I Have which is a kitchen sink of covers and references (Bags Groove? Damn).
This is an amazing show of young hungry Zep leapt from the gate and reaching their stride.
