The Heart of Markness Classic Rock Podcast – Bonus Episode May 26, 1992

We listen to an amazing Two of Us recording of Lou Reed on his first night of a run at Radio City Music Hall, on May 26, 1992, in support of his brilliant Magic and Loss album.
Lou is jovial and playful (for real) and sings with passion and heart. It’s brilliant. I play a bunch from throughout his career. This is one awesome.

The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast – Ep. 211

This is the Grame Remaster tape with patching done by ZepHead315 with a 1st Gen AUD recording, bringing us the most complete recording of this rollicking show ever. This is 2/14/75 Uniondale NY and the band are in great form, and great spirits. No bitching about the snow or anything like that. It’s all libidinal paganism and rock and roll.

We hear Sick Again, an amazing No Quarter, and a badass Trampled Underfoot. You can download this complete concert right here: https://mega.nz/folder/i5MWQR4T#2zeSqogM_I84aFI5q1j-gg

Ep. 211 – The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast

This is a great one. Robert Plant November 3, 1993 Chicago on the Fate of Nations Tour. We hear an excellent recording of Robert in tip top form, with a great band. In the Mood (medley), Heaven Knows, and an incredible blues jam with James Cotton on harp. So so so good.

We hear Coverdale/Page supporting their self titled album in Osaka on December 21, 1993. I play Shake My Tree, Slide it In, Take a Look At Yourself, & Take Me For A Little While (w/ sweet Jimmy solo). A baffling project but a great performance.

Ep. 208 – The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast

We hear a super cool North Bridge remix/remaster matrix of the legendary 3/21/75 Led Zeppelin gig in Seattle. A magic night to be sure and it sounds even better with the release. We listen to three tracks from this sublime performance, and I hope you enjoy.

Ep. 207 – The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast

This is Led Zeppelin at the Newport Jazz Festival on July 6, 1969. The recording I use is a 2nd gen (M>Reel>Reel) from KRW_CO, and it’s pretty damn good. We hear Dazed and Confused (the crowd goes bonkers when Jimmy slaps the strings w/ his violin bow), You Shook Me (killer filthy slide), and a beautiful How Many More Times. There are some PA issues early on but the show is brilliant. Gotta love 1969 Led Zeppelin
