The Heart of Markness Classic Rock Podcast – April 19, 1975

We listen to a wonderful show from the Beacon Theater in NYC, from April 19, 1975 by Little Feat, touring in support of The Last Record Album. The sound is excellent, the performance is excellent, as are the songs, and the band. It’s a good one.

Ep. 84 – The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast – March 19, 1975

We listen to Grame’s remaster of Led Zeppelin in Vancouver, BC on March 19, 1975. The PNW leg of the ’75 tour is my favorite, and this is a fun show. Great recording, great energy. Happy Thanksgiving, enjoy!

June 25, 1975 – Mike Millard Master

We listen to a Mike Millard master recording of Yes at the Hollywood Bowl, June 21, 1975. This is their Relayer tour and Patrick Moraz has replaced Rick Wakeman on keyboards. It has a very jazz fusion vibe and as usual the Millard recording is spectacular. A great show.

New Source, Complete Show Including Full Dancing Days

This is from the newly discovered and released complete 7/13/73 recording of Led Zeppelin in Detroit. Previously only a bit of the show was available on soundboard, but this is a VG audience recording of the entire show, including a complete Dancing Days. A great treasure from Dogs of Doom.

A first gen Mike Millard record of Bruce Springsteen at the LA Sports Arena on August 23, 1981 has been released, and we’re going to give it a listen. This is a beautifully recorded high energy Bruce show from The River tour. Good stuff.

Ep. 79 – August 4 1979 The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast

I tackle the legendary Aug 4, 1979 outdoor concert by Led Zeppelin at Knebworth. This is considered by many to be the last great Zep show and it is a doozy. I use a great matrix recording of this show that you’ll enjoy.

October 5, 1974 – Mike Millard Master

I talk about the 1972/73 UK Tour of Led Zeppelin, Robert’s voice issues, Zep’s final UK tour, and I play some of an unreleased multitrack recording of the Jan 22 Southampton show, and I also bitch about my grumpy health woes. I play How Many More Times/Communication Breakdown and Thank You.

Sept 3, 1971 Madison Square Garden – The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast

Led Zeppelin played New York City on Sept. 3, 1971 and the crowd was wild! So wild they stormed the stage and it collapsed. This is a tape in which the crowd at times is louder than the band, but the show itself is amazing. This is a vastly underrated Zep show. Jimmy’s playing has an edge I’d not heard before.

The Heart of Markness Led Zeppelin Podcast – April 26, 1969

This is one of the best early Led Zeppelin shows around. April 26, 1969 at Bill Graham’s Winterland is a must have show, if only because it’s (probably) the first ever performance of Whole Lotta Love! Every single song in this set is golden. You can’t miss it.

Mike Millard Master – The Heart of Markness Classic Rock Podcast

We have another Mike Millard Master release from JEMS, and it’s Jethro Tull on the opening night of their tour in support of Songs from the Wood album, January 14, 1977. This may be the best sounding stealth recording I’ve heard. Unreal.
